William McBryde Obituary

William Charles McBryde was born on May 20, 1969 in Roberson County. He departed from this earthly life on March 28, 2024, at Pruitt Health in Rockingham, NC after a long illness. William was a 1989 graduate of Red Springs High School. He attended Shaw University for two years.

More than anything else, he loved his son, Delanie, and “Rufus”. They were his pride and joy. William also loved his family very much. His last words to the family were that “We need to come together as a family”. He had a zeal for life. His laughter was contagious. He liked to joke around and make those near to him laugh. William was a big Washington Commander fan. He also loved various types of music, especially Gospel music.

William joined the New Horizon Church of God In Christ in Maxton, NC. There he served in the audio/visual department, where he recorded and videotaped music and the services. Later, he became a member of Townsend Chapel Church of God until his health declined.

William enjoyed working in the service industry. For an extended number of years, he was employed by Cracker Barrel in Lumberton, NC and Wilson, NC. He loved to cook. Later, he was employed by Renewing Grace Group Home for some time, which he enjoyed. He was employed by Roberson County School System, as a school custodian at Parkton Elementary before his health declined. William had an entrepreneurial spirit. He enjoyed having his own business selling Paparazzi jewelry and scented body oils.

William leaves behind his devoted son, Delanie Xavier Mason, Lumberton, NC; a devoted mother, Hattie Tew, of the home; father, Elroy McCall, Sr, who reared him, Red Springs, NC, and his father, James (the late Judy) Jeffery, Darlington, SC; a loving and devoted sister, Mechelle (Rev.
