Tommy Lynn Dial

Tommy Lynn Dial, born on August 21, 1977, in Pembroke, NC, hung up his tools for the last time on August 31, 2024, leaving a void that can only be filled with the countless memories and laughs he generously provided over the years. Tommy was a man who could hang with the best of them—whether it was hanging sheetrock or hanging with family and friends, his efforts were always solid and true.

He had a unique talent for making himself at home anywhere, especially when working with sheetrock. But his real skill was in crafting bonds that were as solid as the walls he built. To say he never encountered a stranger is an understatement—he found friends in everyone he met and spread love like it was going out of style. To know Tommy was to be loved wholeheartedly, no questions asked.

Preceded in death by his father George Dial and his brothers George Lee Dial and Daniel Locklear, his stepfather James Ray Jones, his uncle Randall Locklear. Tommy leaves behind a loving circle of family and friends who will miss him dearly: his mother Dymaries Ann Locklear, his stepmother Joann Dial, his sister Maria Ann Locklear, his nieces Robin, Natoria, Caramia, and Allie Locklear, his nephews Nathaniel Locklear and Antonio Dial, a two special aunts Arlene “Lil Mary” Mitchell and Shirley Locklear, 6 special cousins who cherished him Purlie Deese, Marla Jacobs, Kelli Dial, Ethan Deese, Kyle Bullard, Charlie “Papa” Hunt, a special pet named Turtle along with a crowd of family and friends. 

As we bid farewell, let's remember the joy he brought to our lives—the laughter, the love, and perhaps a few tips on the finer points of sheetrock hanging and framing. He reminds us all that it's not about how long we inhabit this world but how much love and laughter we can stuff into our days. Rest easy, Tommy Lynn; you've left a mark on our hearts that drywall nails couldn't begin to scratch.
