Stuart Smiling

Stuart Smiling of Lumberton was born in Scotland County, NC, on August 7, 1961.  He was born into eternity on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, completing his journey of 64 years.  Stuart was the loving son of the late James Clinton Smiling and Velma Mae Strong Smiling.

Stuart was a construction worker for many years earning a degree from Richmond Community College.  He loved working with his hands and was skilled in many trades.  He was affectionally known by many as “the plumber.”

Stuart leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Angelick Smiling Kulp and husband Jeff of Clarkton, and Katlyn Breanna Smiling of Pembroke, and three granddaughters, Destiny, Ma’leah, and Payton Ann.  He is also survived by one brother, Reverend Carson Smiling, and wife Jane, and one sister, Ruby Lee Locklear and husband Bobby Carl Locklear.
