Steve Austin Pate Obituary

Steve Austin Pate “AuDi”, of Shannon, North Carolina, was born on November 12, 1997 to April Locklear and Steve Pate.   Steve departed this World unexpectedly on May 20, 2020 at the age of 22.  He is predeceased by his maternal Grandmother Pamela Locklear and his paternal Grandfather Larry Fulmer.

He graduated from Red Springs High School in 2016.

Steve was loved and cherished by so many. He enjoyed life and spending time with his Grandfather Wilbert. He especially liked spending time with his cousins and close friends Daniel, Marco, Brandon, Lewis and Deric. Family was very important to him.

He had a contagious smile and a heart of Gold. He was always willing to step in and help anyone. His life was brightening the night he met Taylor and his views on family was forever changed the day Aubree was born.

Steve took fashion cues from no one. His signature every day look was all his: always with mismatched socks and long hair. He seemed to have the brightest smile and gentlest presence still always. He loved playing his PlayStation and most recently enjoyed reading devotionals and the Bible. He had planned to enroll into Community College in the Fall and work towards a Degree to become an electrician. He had made it clear his intends was to provide Taylor and Aubree with the best life.

Steve is survived by his parents; his fiancée Taylor Nicole Lowery; his daughter Aubree Liana Lowery; his maternal Grandfather Wilbert Henry Locklear; his Step Mother Melissa Chavis Pate;  his paternal Grandparents Jerry and Shelia Bullard; his brothers Avery Luke Jones, Logan Chavis, Daylan Pate; his sisters Malayhia Pate and Britney Chavis. Steve " Audi" loved his cousins like they were his own sisters, and brothers. He would stand up for Madison, Alexis, Tristen, Autumn, Tyler, Kanyon and Matthew at any given time. Their bonds were inserparable. As well as his Aunts: Moon, Winona and Hope. And his mother April and brother Avery. These individuals as well as his "Pops" Wilbert were his lifeline.

“AuDi” will be truly missed by many. His smile will be missed as well as all his  I love you’ s. As the days go by we will miss the “I love You Auntie”, “I love Pops”,  “I love you Cuzo”, “I love you Wifey” and “I love you Mama”. But his contagious smile will continue to shine bright in our hearts as he now rests with Mama Pamela and they are dancing in the sky watching over us all.
