Sheryl Smith Locklear, 54, of Raeford, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on September 12, 2023.
Sheryl was born on November 5, 1968 in Laurinburg, North Carolina, the daughter of Beverly Clarke Smith, Bobby Bae Smith, and Linda Smith Wilcox (stepmother).
Sheryl was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and friend. She loved God and her family more than anything. She had a smile that could light up a room and her laugh was contagious. Her happiest times were laughing and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going to the lake with her daughter, Victoria, and late husband, Ronnie Keith and enjoyed going to church. She also loved the salty air, sun, good food and relaxation of the beach.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Keith Locklear; son, Zachary Keith Locklear; mother, Beverly Ann Smith; father, Bobby Bae Smith; grandparents, Johnnie and Maggie Smith, William and Morton Clarke, and Donald and Lula Clear. She is survived by her loving daughter, Victoria Locklear; mother, Linda Smith Wilcox (Jerry); siblings, Bobbi Clark (Chad), Shannon Person (Jay), Cayce Smith, and Matthew Smith (Katie); in-laws, Roy Chavis, Glenda Collins, Shawanna Oxendine (Jeff), Grady Chavis (Beth), Berna Broady (Antonio), Emmalee Chavis (Jason), Chastity Collins and Roy Jacobs (Leeann); her furry companion, Ellie; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, with a special place in her heart for Rebecca and Nehemiah.
Sheryl will deeply be missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her loyalty to her family and faith, living her life for the Lord, her family, and especially her daughter, Victoria. She wanted nothing more than for Victoria to have a wonderful life. When you think of Sheryl, celebrate all the good times, laughs and memories, and remember that life is fragile and short, so live life like there is no tomorrow.
