Sharon Hagler Bailey, 78 of Red Springs, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Reverend Edward Gorden Hagler and the late Mrs. Hazel Hawkins Hagler was born on July 16, 1948 in Fort Rucker, Alabama. Sharon passed away on April 18, 2025, at First Health Hospice House surrounded by her family. Preceding Sharon in death are her parents, Reverend Edward Gorden Hagler and Hazel Hawkins Hagler; grandson, Brent Lee Bailey; brother, Samuel Gorden Hagler; aunt, Eva Lucille Hawkins.
After completing high school, Sharon went on to attend Hamlet Cosmetology, earning her cosmetology license.
Sharon married Jerry Franklin Bailey on December 12, 1969. They were married for 55 years. They shared a special love, and she was the light of his life.
Sharon worked as a hairdresser for Creative Hair Designs and Kay’s Hair Fashions for many years.
Sharon especially loved the beach, shagging, listening to beach music, animals, caring for others, spending time with her family, and her beloved dog Tallie.
Remaining to cherish Sharon’s memory are husband, Jerry Franklin Bailey; children, Bobby Lee Bailey (Ricky), Shannon Bailey (Cissy); grandchildren, Michelle Benton (L.J.), Kristen Little (Darian), Darnella Cummings, Matthew Bailey (Samantha), and Taylor Bailey; great-grandchildren, Brayden Bailey, Deon Little, Ethan Short, Kaden Herndon, Alannah Benton, Kenya Cummings, brother-in-law, Bill Bailey (Cat); sister-in-law, Sissy Sandford, special friends, James and Mary Lou Freeman, and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in Sharon’s memory to First Health Hospice House Pinehurst, 251 Campground Rd. West End, NC 27376.
