Samuel Lowery

Mr. Samuel Lowery, 67, Lumberton, was born April 15, 1959, and departed this life on April 25, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert (HL) Lowery and Polly Maynor Lowery, sisters: Barbara Brewington and Sheril Lowery, grandparents: Herman and Neva Lowery, Rev. Britton and Etta Maynor.

He leaves to cherish his memories; wife: Teresa L. Lowery, sons: Marcus (Lauren) White, Jimmie (Sandy) Hunt, Terry Hunt, daughter: Samantha (Tommy) Oxendine, grandchildren: Lakota (Morgan) Locklear and Braydon (Jayla) Locklear, Kyleigh White, Tyler Oxendine, Sophia Oxendine, William Locklear, Mark Locklear, Kaiden Deese, sisters: Anita Lowery and Tina Lowery, and a host of relatives and friends.

Brother Sam was a carpenter by trade and truly a jack of all trades. He worked in construction, small engine repair, and as a safety man (Safety Man Sam). One of his greatest joys was making something out of nothing.

He enjoyed the simple things in life; sitting under the carport watching the birds at the feeder, being the community “watch dog”, spending time with family, and simply enjoying his blessings. His daily routine was getting his mountain dew and going to Fran’s for breakfast to laugh and joke with his friends.

Sam was thankful for where God had brought him in life. He would often say, “God reached way down to bring me up.” He believed God worked on him daily and humbled him along the way before calling him, free from it all.
