Rev. Eula Campbell McNeill age 79 of Red Springs, North Carolina, was born on September 23, 1942, to the late Mr. Lacy Edward Campbell, Sr., and the late Mrs. Ruth M. Campbell in Robeson County, North Carolina. She departed this life into eternity on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James Edward (Jimmy) Campbell, Elex Campbell, Daniel Campbell, a sister, Betty Campbell, and a granddaughter, Britton Carr.
Rev. McNeill was united in holy matrimony to Henry R. McNeill on December 25, 1964 and was the mother of two sons and one daughter.
Eula was a member of the 1960 graduating class of Peterson High School. After recovering from illness, Eula received a bachelor’s degree from Fayetteville State University in 1970. Eula received a master’s degree from North Carolina Central University and an additional master’s degree from Fayetteville State University in 1986. Eula worked in the public school system of Robeson County for over 30 years before creating and operating Created For U Learning Academy alongside her husband. Eula was involved in the chartering of the Red Springs chapter of Las Amigas Inc. Rev. McNeill was also a loyal member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. On September 4, 2011, Eula was ordained a minister and began presiding over First Missionary Baptist Church. Due to her service and dedication to her craft January 19, 2013, was proclaimed Eula C. McNeill Day in the town of Red Springs. Rev. McNeill served the Town of Red Springs, NC as a town commissioner for over 22 years before retiring in December of 2017. During her retirement ceremony Eula was awarded The Order of the Long Leaf Pine the highest honor a North Carolinian can receive.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Mr. Henry R. McNeill of the home, two sons, Richard McNeill, Sr., of Magnolia, North Carolina; and Anthony McNeill of Red Springs, North Carolina; one daughter, Michelle Carr (Deshon) of Greenville, North Carolina; five brothers, Lacy Campbell, Jr., (Darlene) and Martin Campbell, Sr., (Daisy) of Red Springs, North Carolina; Thurman Campbell (Thelma) of Raleigh, North Carolina; James B. Campbell (Sherry) of Hope Mills, North Carolina; and Dennis T. Campbell (Roneice) of York Town, Virginia. Four sisters, Eddy Faye Murray (James), Betty Ruth Goodyear (Willie J.), and Mollie C. Williams (Kevin) all of Red Springs, North Carolina; and Ella C. Flowers (Kenneth) of Manassas, Virginia and two sisters- in-law, Janice Campbell of Durham, NC and Katherine Johnson Campbell of Red Springs, NC. Ten grandchildren, Amberly Malachi (Frankie) of Winston-Salem, NC; Faith R. McNeill of Goldsboro, NC; and Richard McNeill, Jr., of Magnolia, NC; Damiyante, Makalia, Damia McLean, Kentavion Stephens, Olivia Whitehurst, Deshon Carr Jr., and Mason Carr, all of Greeneville, NC. Four great-grandchildren, Frankie, Jaedyn, and Jeremiah Malachi, of Winston-Salem, NC; and great-granddaughter, Vanessa M., of Goldsboro, NC. Beloved Godmother, Elsie Coleman and Godchildren Michael Gibson, Dr. Terrence Campbell, and Marshaketa Marshall and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
