In Loving Memory
Patricia Norton, professional mischief-maker, spade enthusiast, and beloved legend to those who knew her, was born to her beloved parents, Annie Mae Norton and William Franklin Norton, on June 16, 1950, and passed away on March 24, 2026, at the age of 75. She lived a life full of stories, laughter, and the firm belief that a joke and a good time could fix almost anything.
Patricia was known for her quick wit, strong opinions about how things should be done (usually her way), and her special ability to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. If something went wrong, she likely had a funny comment ready. If something went right, she was the first to celebrate.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Annie Mae Caulder-Norton and William Franklin Norton. Her brothers Thomas Norton, Billy Norton, James W. Norton. Two sisters Bertha Norton and her very charismatic sister Lillie Mae Norton-Rogers. She's survived by her sisters Edna Carter, Betty Reynaud, Sara Locklear (Lee Mack), & Paula Tanner. Her loving brothers William F. Norton & Richard Norton.
Also she leaves behind two devoted daughters, Ann Marie Norton Hammonds of Lumberton, NC, and Joy Leigh Norton of Hope Mills, NC. She was a proud grandmother to Eric Jacobs, Annalicia Hammonds, Kaleb Hammonds,Salena Locklear, Olivia Hammonds, and Juelz Freeman, along with 12 great-grandchildren who will continue to share her stories, laugh at her jokes, and debate who she liked best (most would say it was whoever brought the goodies).
Patricia asked that people not make too much fuss, though she would secretly be pleased if there were good food and a good time involved. In place of sadness, the family encourages everyone to enjoy a good meal, tell a funny story, and bring out the cards in her honor.
She may be gone, but her humor, stubbornness, and legendary one-liners will live on in everyone who loved her.
