Nina Locklear age 64 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on January 10, 1960, to Barbara Chavis and the late Vernon Scott in Scotland County, North Carolina. She departed this life on January 18, 2024, at UNC Health Southeastern, Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with her father Nina was preceded in death by her husband Buddy Locklear, a son Delwin Locklear, grandparents Rev. Godwin and Loshie Chavis, Bonnie Chavis, a brother Danny Chavis.
Nina leaves to cherish her memories her mother: Barbara Wilcox (Glenn) of High Point, North Carolina, one daughter: Crystal Clark, four sisters: Laura Freeman (George), Francine Henderson (James), Lisa McMillian (Terrice) all of Maxton, North Carolina, Gwen Scott of Memphis, Tennessee, five brothers: Frank Cooper (Jennifer) of Wagram, North Carolina, Leon Chavis, Harlen Chavis (Dorcaus), Delton Chavis all of Maxton, North Carolina, Wayne Wilcox of High Point, North Carolina, five grandchildren: Dakota, Christopher, Zabian, Hannah, Jaden, one great grandson, her nieces and nephews she loved dearly, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Nina loved spending time with her family, so from your sisters and brothers, Nina the last year you spent with us worshipping God together, laughing, crying and playing was filled with so much joy. When we girls went on the beach trip together, we loved it so much. You are going to be missed so very much. Your race is over, no more pain and no more worries. Go rest now sis. WE LOVE YOU!
