Mrytle Berry Locklear

Mrs. Myrtle Berry Locklear, age 102, of 5739 Oxendine School Rd, Maxton, NC entered her heavenly home on Monday July 28, 2020. She accepted Christ as her savior in 1931. She celebrated her birthday on August 18, 1918, and was born in Claxton, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents Jasper Harmon Berry and Winnie Mariah Lowery Berry, her husband Reverend Joseph “Pete” Locklear, a daughter Vera Lee Locklear, three sons Joseph “Joe” Locklear, Bryant Locklear and Pat Locklear, one daughter-in-law Jane Locklear,  three grandchildren Myrtle “Mercy” Cydel Dial, Dana Locklear and Ian Dial, two great-grand children Cameron Locklear, Shiloh Faith Epps, one great-great grandchild Harper Elizabeth Hunt. She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Roy Lee Berry, JP Berry, Jasper “Junious” Berry Jr., Charles Harmon Berry, John Berry, Ernist Berry, Richard Berry, four sisters, Daisy Lee Locklear, Adlena Berry Baker, Ruth Berry Smith, Delmer Berry Cummings.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Hazel and husband McKinley Jones, Jr, of Red Springs, Annia and husband Jimmy F. Locklear of Maxton, Margaret and husband Bruce Dial Sr. of Pembroke, seven sons, Eugene and wife Judy of Red Springs, Spencer and wife Annie of Bolivia, North Carolina, James of Pembroke, Ronald,  Billy and wife Patsy, Jimmy, Martin and wife Mary all of Maxton, an aunt, Dorothy Clark of Red Springs, a niece, Willie Ree Oxendine of Pembroke, care givers, Molly B. Locklear, Dale Pulley, and Letitia Lowery, 62 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren and 45 great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
