Rev. Montana Locklear, (Two Gun), 79, of 445 Albert Currie Road, Shannon, North Carolina, was born on June 11, 1937, in Robeson County, North Carolina to the late Mr. Carlie Locklear and the late Mrs. Mary Jane Barton Locklear. A Warrior for Christ, Rev. Montana Locklear received his heavenly crown on Jan. 5, 2017, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

We thank God for him and his 79 years of life, his love of God, the ministering God's word and saving souls for Christ.

Rev. Locklear dedicated his life to Christ in 1959 at a church service held in a old store in Shannon, NC.  He served as Pastor of churches in Fayetteville, NC, Clinton, NC, and Shannon, NC, and was the founding Pastor of Freedom Assembly of God in Red Springs, NC and Open Arms Assembly of God in Rennert, NC. Rev. Locklear has preached to Apaches in Arizona, Choctaw in Oklahoma and Crees' in Canada.

A homegoing service for Rev. Montana Locklear will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Freedom Assembly of God, Red Springhs, North Carolina. Interment will follow in family cemetery. Officiating Revs. Hedrick Jones, Matthew Jones, Dr. Charles Kelly, Terrell McNeill, Howard Thompson.

The Rev. Montana leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Hunt Locklear, of the home; two sons, Martin (Marty) Locklear, of Red Springs, North Carolina; Tana Locklear Jr., of Baltimore, Maryland; a stepdaughter, Vera A. Frederick, of Shannon, North Carolina; three stepsons, Peter James Grant, of Laurinburg, North Carolina; Daniel Joel Grant, of Laurinburg, North Carolina; and John Glenn Ammons, of Laurinburg, North Carolina; two brothers, Wayne Locklear, of Red Springs, North Carolina; and Claude Wade Locklear "Pee Wee", of Red Springs, North Carolina; three sisters, Gertha Locklear, of Rennert, North Carolina; Cora Lee Oxendine, of Red Springs, North Carolina; and Carol Locklear, of Pembroke, North Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends. "I don't regret a mile I've traveled for the Lord."
