Modies M. Jones

Mrs. Modies M. Jones age 99 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on March 29, 1922, to the late Mr. Bozie Locklear and the late Mrs. Jessie Tyler Locklear and departed this life into her heavenly home on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Morrison Manor Hospice in Scotland County. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Bozie Locklear Jr., Samuel Locklear, Kernice Locklear, five sisters: Zelma Locklear, Thelma Locklear, Virginia Brewer, Jessie Bell Fulmer, Eloise Locklear, granddaughter: Linda Porter, great-granddaughter: Evelina, one great-great-grandson.

Mrs. Modies was a dedicated member and the mother of Sandy Ridge Holiness Church. She was a woman who loved the Lord, her family and her door was always open to everyone who came to visit her. During her extended illness she maintained a spiritual and beautiful spirit. She was full of faith and hope that she was going to meet her Lord and Savior. Her testimony was always of "God's goodness, his grace and her readiness to meet him"  She was generous to so many in her community and the impact that she made will never be forgotten. Today we will will respect, honor, and remember Mrs. Modies as good woman that would want us to rejoice and not be sad.

Mrs. Modies leaves to cherish her memories her sons: Veril Ray Jones, James Albert Jones, Albert Jones, daughter: Evelyn Porter, six grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, a special niece: Deliliah Chavis, a special friend: Alford "Rudy" Jacobs, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
