Michael Lee Locklear

Mr. Michael Lee Locklear, 63, of 1189 McGirt Gin Rd. Maxton North Carolina was born on January 6, 1961 in Scotland County to the late Mr. Howard Locklear Sr. and the late Mrs. Gertha Jacobs Locklear.  Mr. Locklear departed this life suddenly on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Scotland Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Henry Thurman Locklear and three sisters, Maggie Rose Chavis, Linda Joyce Oxendine, and Rena Louise Locklear.

Michael Lee leaves to cherish his loving memories with his wife Brenda Locklear of the home, two daughters, Kristi Sue Jones and Bridget Lee Locklear (Christopher), one son, Michael Cameron Locklear (Renee), nine grandchildren, Kelsey, Michael, Brent, Chloe, Isabella, Karlie, Leilani, Luke, and Dinah, and one great grandchild, Kaiden. He is also survived by two brothers, Mr. Howard Locklear Jr. (Linda), Mr. Gregory Thomas Locklear (Millie)and two sisters, Wanda Locklear-McCall (Jeffrey) and Shelby Locklear-Revels.

Michael Lee vowed and valued his success and contributed that to hard work and his devotion of running his business “Michael’s Enterprise”.  Michael Lee had a contagious personality and never met a stranger.  His love for everyone was shown in the way he gave selflessly.  Michael Lee’s pride was shown in his passion for Duke Basketball, Carolina Panthers, drag racing, dancing to Motown, and being in the spotlight. He had an uncanny ability to share stories that captured your imagination and taught us a lot about life through those encounters.

            Michael Lee was a man of compassion, a beacon of love for his family, and a craftsman of the community.  His legacy will continue to inspire, and his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him, and the ones that loved him.  Michael Lee was loved by many and made many lasting memories with a host of associates, family, friends, nieces and nephews. He was like a father to them and shared his love and advice whenever it was granted. Michael Lee will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
