Melissa Marie Powell age 33 of Fayetteville, North Carolina was born on December 18, 1988, to Lilly Earwood and Phyllis Powell in Cumberland County, North Carolina. She departed this life on July 27, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Dale Chase Earwood and Mary Francis Earwood, her maternal grandfather Roy Powell and her uncle Malcom Dale Earwood.

She leaves to cherish her memories three sons: Ron Ivey Jr., Eli Ivey, Brently Ivey all of Shannon, North Carolina, two daughters: Macrissa Ivey and McKenzie Ivey both of Shannon, North Carolina, father Lilly "Red" Earwood of Fayetteville, North Carolina, mother: Phyllis "Dana" Powell of St. Pauls, North Carolina, a mother who raised her: Betty Powell Hunt of St Pauls, North Carolina, three brothers: Michael Anthony Horne and wife Christie of Shannon, North Carolina, Kevin Dale Powell, Joey Powell and wife Rebecca all of Cumberland County, one sister: Robyn Hall,  maternal grandmother: Betty Allen, step-grandfather: Timmy Allen, mother in law: Jennifer Locklear and husband Christopher of Red Springs, North Carolina, father in law: Ronnie Ivey of St. Pauls, North Carolina, brother in law: Ryan Ivey of St. Pauls, North Carolina, sister in law: Ronda Ivey of Lumberton, North Carolina, five nieces, six nephews, her best friend: LeighAne Dalley of Hope Mills, North Carolina, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
