She departed this life on April 9, 2026, at Firsthealth Moore Regional, Pinehurst, North Carolina. Along with her father she was preceded in death by a sister, Kennetta Kay Locklear, paternal grandparents, McKinnon Locklear and Delphia Pevia Locklear, maternal grandparents, Edward Joe Locklear and Betty Ruth Brooks Locklear.
