Mrs. Mattie Lee Locklear Deese age 73 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on May 29, 1946 to the late Mrs. Annie Ruth Locklear in Robeson County and passed away peacefully into eternity on April 20, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Roy Deese her step-father, Winford Locklear and a great-grandchild Kate Inez Deese.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Ronald Lee Deese and Roy Deese both of Maxton, North Carolina; two daughters, Evelene Deese of Pembroke, North Carolina and Darlene Deese of Lumberton, North Carolina; three brothers, Pernell Locklear and Vernell Locklear both of Pembroke, North Carolina; Rudolph Locklear of Cheraw, South Carolina; one sister, Emma Locklear of Pembroke, North Carolina; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey, Elane, Kenneth, Justin, Watesha, John David, Ursula, James, Sierra, Santos(Tater), seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
