Mary (Terry) McNair

Ms. Mary  “Coot” Terry McNair was born on September 22, 1948, to the late Mr. James Terry and Mrs. Thelma Woods Terry, in Hoke County, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life to eternal rest on Thursday, June 23, 2022 in Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eric Terry, her two brothers, Andrew Terry and Alton Terry, and two sisters, Annie Woods and Dorothy Patterson.

Coot attended Peterson High School and was a proud member of the Peterson High School Class of 1968.

Christianity was instilled in Coot’s life at an early age by her parents; she attended First Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Usher Board.  Coot rededicated her life in 2021.

She leaves to cherish her memories her long-time companion: George McCollum Jr. of the home, her daughter Erica Terry (Reginald), of the home, three grandchildren, Trinity Terry, Teairra Terry, and Nigeria Terry, all of the home; two sons Jerry Terry (Sandra) of Ellicott City, Maryland; and Christopher Terry of Red Springs, North Carolina; four daughters, Helene Michelle Blue, of Red Springs, North Carolina; Tracey Graham(Erick) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Pamela Brown (Freddie) of Red Springs, North Carolina; and Kimberly Mack (Robert) of Lumberton, North Carolina; one brother James Terry (Margaret) of Waco, Texas; two sisters, Elizabeth Williams and Thelma I. Terry of Red Springs, North Carolina; One sister-in-law, Catherine Terry of Red Springs, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jemery Terry, Jordan Terry, Janal Terry, Fonsha Blue, Raymond Blue, Jalisha Beauguard, Martel Scott, Alana Hammonds, Tiesha Vazquez, Treante Graham, Taequan Blue; James Brown, Jr., Consetta McNair, Marisia Brown, Jordon Brown, Juiluan Brown, Ro’Daruius Mack, Robert Mack III, Ro’Shawn Mack, Anthony McMillian, Cameron Banks, A’Keliah Barton, Ameriah Whaley, Eric Terry, Jr., Na’kiyah Chavis, and A’eric Terry; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
