Marie Chavis

Marie Chavis age 87 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on May 18, 1931 to the late Archie McMillian and the late Annie McMillan in Robeson County, North Carolina. Mrs. Marie departed this earthly life to enter her heavenly home on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Chavis, three sons, Ricky Chavis, Jerry Ray Chavis, and Daniel Ray (Shorty) Chavis; two grandsons, Brandon Locklear, and Kenneth Ray Chavis.

Mrs. Marie leaves to to cherish her memory. two sons, Ronald Lee (Dee Dee) Chavis  and Jeffrey (Bit) Chavis both of Maxton, North Carolina; three daughters, Christine Chavis and husband Stedford Jr, of Maxton, North Carolina; Linda Carol Locklear of Red Springs, North Carolina; and Patricia Chavis  Bullard of Maxton, North Carolina; daughter in law, Susan Chavis of Maxton, North Carolina, eighteen grandchildren; Ricky, Ronald, Olivia, Christopher Dwayne, Stephanie, Camilla, Faith, Bruce, Valerie, Shalonia, Starlet, Jeffrey Allen, Jamie Lynn, Phillip, Jonathan, and Brian; thirty-six great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Homegoing Service for Mrs. Marie Chavis will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Cherokee Chapel Holiness Methodist Church, Maxton, North Carolina. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018. Interment will follow in the Cherokee Chapel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery.
