Mrs. Loretta Locklear Jones age 58 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on October 11, 1966, to James Wilbert Locklear and Margaret Sue Brewer Locklear in Robeson County, North Carolina. She departed this life to her heavenly home on June 3, 2025, at Morrison Manor, Laurinburg, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Sue Locklear, grandparents, Willie Locklear and Roberta Locklear, a nephew, Caden Locklear.
Mrs. Loretta carried many titles during her time here on earth. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, mentor, and a great friend to anybody that crossed paths with her. Most importantly she was a child of God. Loretta leaves behind so many memories that we the family will always cherish. Loretta loved spending time with family, enjoyed sitting around the table laughing and fellowshipping over Sunday dinner, throwing a game of cornhole because she loved some good competition, and taking trips to the beach to fish. Her favorite home away from home would be the mountains. She loved going to Cherokee every chance she could. Loretta was employed with UNCP at the Museum of the Southeast American Indian. During her time of employment, she was a true role model and mentor for many. Loretta was well loved by her family, friends, and her UNCP community.
