Larry Brue McKoy (Bass) was born to the late Lawrence McCallum and Sadie McKoy on, January 16, 1958. Bass entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 21, 2025. He is preceded in death by his sister, Louise McLeod.
He was educated in the Hoke County School System and graduated in 1977.
Bass worked at Croft Metal in Red Springs for many years. He also worked in construction until he retired. After retirement he was a jack of all trades, helping people in the community/lending a helping hand, doing lawn care, a member of the Gravedigger Crew, that consisted of Bass, Jordan and Jew Brown, James Carthins, James Black, Fletcher McMillian and the late James “Lil Fred” Brown and he worked for Hardin’s Farm. Bass was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, but most importantly, he was a family man.
Bass was a gentle giant, he didn’t say much but his presence was known. Bass met Annie Lois Graham in 1980 and they were united in holy matrimony on July 12, 1997.
Bass leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving wife: Annie Lois McKoy, daughter: Amy Graham and six bonus daughters: Diane Jones-Sullivan, Sherika Parker, Kiona King, Lisa Felix, Stephanie Pittman, and Coretta Brockington, and two bonus sons: Daniel Nicholson, and Cornelius McClease: one beautiful granddaughter: A`Yanna “Yaya” Ellison: sisters: Sarah McKoy, Pastor Bennie Lee Kelly.
