It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kelly Namon Sweatt of Bennettsville, SC. He died peacefully at the age of 63 surrounded by his family and loved ones at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC after a long battle with an illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Namon Sweatt and Lona Berry Sweatt, as well as a brother in law, John VanWagenen, and a nephew, Eric Blue.
Kelly is survived by his daughters, Rachel (David) Oxendine of Maxton, NC, and Danielle (Kris) Wiggins of Charleston, SC. Sisters, Susan (Tim) Long of Bennettsville, SC, Nancy Blue of Florence, SC, Sandra (Bobby) Locklear of Clio, SC, and Loretta VanWagenen of West Des Moines, Iowa. Brothers Henry Sweatt of West Des Moines, Iowa and Matthew Sweatt of Bennettsville, SC. Grandchildren, Nicholas Oxendine and Ashton (Keilo Hunt) Oxendine of Maxton, NC. And 2 great-grandchildren as well as a host of special neices and nephews and family and friends.
In his younger years, Kelly enjoyed reading the Bible and drawing religious images. As he grew older, he became a carpenter. Kelly enjoyed fishing, loved his family and was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. He will be remembered for his warmth, laughter and love for his family.
A private memorial service will be held for immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Hospice of Scotland County
