Mr. John Allen “Abe” Locklear, age 63 was born June 21, 1957 to the union of the late Mr. Riley Locklear Sr. and the late Mrs. Maybell Brooks Freeman in Scotland County, North Carolina. John Allen departed this life on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at “The Creek” spending time swimming with family and friends. John Allen is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mr. Joshua Bullard, Sr., and one brother, Mr. Riley “Bunny” Locklear.
John Allen loved helping others even if it meant giving you his last dollar. He was described by family as the go to guy when you needed something done. John Allen had a special place in his heart for children, which was evident as he gave his life to save that of a special little boy. John Allen was not a man of great wealth or worldwide fame but when it came to “The Creek” he was famous in his own right. John Allen's last gift to his fellow man was being that of an organ donor in which he helped save many lives and gave sight to the blind.
John Allen is survived by one daughter, Cassandra “Pootie” Hernandez (Mario), one stepdaughter, Delsey Hunt (Theodore), a very special sister-in-law, whom he called “Sister”, Mrs. Irene Locklear, two sisters, Ms. Molly B. “Cookie” Locklear and Ms. Reda Lane Locklear. Three brothers, Mr. Donald E. “Shadow” Locklear, Mr. Rocky Locklear (Janice) and Mr. Mitchell Locklear (Linda), his daughter-in-law, Crystal Locklear, special nieces, Cynthia Chavis, Denise Locklear, Courtney Chavis and Sheri Collins. A Special Mom, Mrs. Geraldine Locklear. Grandchildren, Joshua A., Julius, Robert, Mario III, Joshua M., Zyanya, Onyx, Redella, Talisa, Theodore. Best Friends, Rosevelt “Judge” Chavis and Charlie Ray Bryant, sister-in-law, Cathleen Revels. John Allen also leaves many more nieces, nephews, family and friends.
