Jessie Ree Locklear

Mrs. Jessie Ree Locklear, age 90 of Hoke County entered into her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 21, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 12, 1930 to her parents the late Mr. David Locklear and the late Mrs. Lillie Henderson Locklear. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marl Locklear, two daughters, Rosie and Lillie Locklear, her son, Danny Locklear, sister, Mary Alice Locklear, brothers: Rev. Wade Locklear and Tom Warner Henderson. two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Jessie was a faithful member of Mt.Elim Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing, reading her bible, and talking to her children and grandchildren about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Rev Larry Locklear (Carolyn) of Red Springs, North Carolina; four daughters: Pearlie Brooks ( William) of Rennert, North Carolina, Kathy Locklear (Shelton) Glenda Locklear (Matt) both of Shannon, North Carolina; Jane Locklear (Jearl) of Raeford, North Carolina; twenty six grandchildren, seventy-four great grandchildren, twenty three great- great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

A legacy has been left behind for the family to carry on. Our precious mother and grandmother's faith in God was everlasting and will remind us that if we want to see her again we must also live the life that she has lived before us. She led by example and has indeed left big shoes for us to fill.                         "She held on to God's Unchanging Hand"
