James Roger Goode Jr

Receiving strength and consolation in the words of the Holy Spirit, we humbly submit to the will of God in His calling our beloved James Roger Goode, Jr.  from labor to reward in heaven.

Born to Rosa Lee Wells and James Roger Goode, Sr., on Saturday, January 11, 1969, their beloved son, James Roger Goode, Jr., departed into eternal rest on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at his home in Red Springs, NC.  Two brothers; Anthony Roberts of New Jersey and Randy Wells of Richmond, Virginia as well as one sister, Kimberly Wells also of Richmond, Virginia preceded James in death. 

Educated in the public schools in Richmond, Virginia, James would go on to work with several companies as a long and short haul truck driver.  At his death, he was employed with the Panera Bread Corporation. 

Life in James' circle was lively and entertaining. Considered the center of attention at family gatherings, he specialized in making people laugh with his comedic monologues.  There was never a dull moment in his presence. 

Finding pleasure in various music genres, he especially enjoyed jamming to his favorite artist, Frankie Beverly and Maze. 

He found enjoyment working on automobiles. The consummate friend, James could be depended on to assist anyone if time permitted.  His life was a living testament to the blessings he brought to his family and his community.

Remaining to cherish his memories are his wife; Sharon McLean Goode, his children: Shdawna Goode, James Roger Goode, III, Jamia Townes (Christopher), J’nya Goode, Imari Brownlee, and Jkhai Brownlee all of Richmond, VA, Sharron (SD) McLean (Nakuma) and Tasha McLean of Red Springs, NC.  His father, James Roger Goode, Sr., (Virginia McCoy) of Philadelphia, PA, his mother, Rosa Lee Wells, Richmond, VA. Ten grandchildren; Kyel McCutchen, Jamiah Braxton, Kayla Goode, Chrisiah Townes, Verniah Townes, Christyn Townes, Awgust Townes, Kelsey Locklear, Kyria Locklear and Amari McLean.  One great-grand child, Averi McLean.  His brothers; Rodney Goode, (Vesha), Christopher Moore (Odessa), Leon Wayne Warlington, Jr. (Noreen), Rome Wells, and Author Montgomery all of Richmond, VA, Roy Wells, Sumter, SC, and Dr. Michael McCoy, MD, (Dawn) Philadelphia, PA.  His sisters; Krystal Goode, Rachelle Wells, Tomeka Wells, Latoya Wells all of Richmond, VA and Rosa Mae McBride, Sumter, SC.  A very special brother, Chris Jessup (Junara) Raeford, NC and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters in law and brothers in law and friends.
