James "Pete" Jones

Mr. James “Pete” Jones, age 83 of Red Springs, North Carolina born on September 11, 1941, He peacefully departed this life on October 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. 

Pete was the beloved son of the late Ashley Jones and the late Delia Locklear and was also preceded in death by his son, Adolph “Bear” Strickland

James worked for many years at Jon-San Chevrolet, where he was a respected and dedicated employee, known for his strong work ethic and kindness.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his children, Michael Chavis (April) and Gail Troy (Adam), as well as his 13 treasured grandchildren: Marlin, James Michael, Mikaila, Nyla, Latishia, Mykaila, Haneigh, Aaron, Kayla, Emily, Angela, Brandon, and Jalynn, who were his pride and joy. He was also blessed with ten great-grandkids: Kaiden, Austin, Ashton, Marlin Jr., Maverick, Adalynn , Javiah, Carter, Koa and Malayah . A very special nephew, Trent Locklear (Samantha), also held a unique place in his heart,  and host of other relatives and friends.
