James Patterson

Mr. James T.  Patterson known to everyone as “Buck”, the son of Mrs. Mattie Louise Patterson Ferguson and the late Mr. Alexander McLean was born on February 23, 1949 in Robeson County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Sun Coast Hospice, Florida.

He received his education at Oak Ridge High School and was a 1967 graduate.  

Later on in years, James moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he worked for the Yellow Cab Company for many years until his health would not let him work anymore.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents, one brother, William Alfred Patterson, one sister, Arlether Patterson and a special aunt, Carolyn Patterson Harvey.

  He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Mattie Louise Patterson Ferguson of Red Springs, North Carolina, two sisters, Marilyn McLean and Laura Ann Shaw (David), both of Red Springs, North Carolina, four brothers, James Walter Ferguson, Jr., and John Demetris Ferguson both of Red Springs, North Carolina, Hollis Woods (Julia) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Lynwood McNeil of Columbia, South Carolina, god-sister, Andrei Lynn Richardson, of Red Springs, North Carolina; two uncles Amos Patterson, Jr., (Gee) and Cecil Harvey, both of Red Springs, North Carolina; two aunts, Doris Horton, of New York; and Sarah McLean, of Washington, DC, special friends, Sandra Wiggins, Ruth Doram and Mr. Thomas all of St. Petersburg, Florida, nieces, nephews, and a host of many other relatives and friends.
