James Grady Chavis

Mr. James Grady Chavis age 86 of Lumberton, North Carolina was born on June 2, 1933 to the late Mr. Grandford Chavis and the late Mrs. Mae Deese Chavis in Robeson County, North Carolina. He departed this life on September 2, 2019 at Woodhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Della Chavis, his children Betty Chavis, Jerry Spaulding, Roy Thomas Spaulding, James Ray Jacobs and Rhonda Sue Jacobs.

Mr. Chavis leaves to cherish his memories six sons Angelo Deese of Texas, Herman Deese of New York, Sherman Hunt Jr. and wife Sarah of Rowland, North Carolina, Dustin Jacobs and wife Nicole of Pembroke, North Carolina, Decill Deese and Craig Jacobs both of the home,four daughters Cathy Locklear and husband Red of Lumberton, North Carolina, Peggy Barton and husband Donald of Maxton, North Carolina, Valisa Jacobs of the home, Ladonna Jacobs and husband Papa of St. Pauls, North Carolina, two sisters Norma (Tank) Fox and husband Tom of Ashboro, North Carolina, Patsy Jacobs of Laurinburg, North Carolina, a host of grandchildren, two great grandchildren Kaden and JC, a special CNA Tabatha Bullard and a host of other relatives and friends.
