Mr. Homer Strickland age 76 of Rowland, North Carolina was born on April 7, 1947, to the late McKinley Strickland and the late Viletter Lowry Strickland. He departed this life on December 7, 2023, at Morrison Manor, Laurinburg, North Carolina. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Harlee Tarrell Strickland, his siblings, Reggie, Molan, Nathan, Paul "Cookie', Kenny, Edith, Annie Ruth, Berlene, Perlene, and Alma.
Mr. Homer was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He worked for Daniels Construction as a crane operator for many years, and later owned his own business in the logging industry. He met a lot of people along the way and if you ever knew him, you sure didn't forget him.
He is survived by his children: Shirlene Strickland, Darlene Chavis (Timmy), Homer Strickland Jr., Paul Anthony Strickland (Rachel), sisters: Dottie Locklear (Jerry), Mary Helen Royal and Lillie Jane Kalie, eight grandchildren: Maranda Strickland, Destiny Locklear, Austin Locklear (Lauren), Cerles Locklear, Zachary Timmy Chavis (Jordan), Emma Strickland, Scarlett Strickland, Ellie Strickland, nine great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, a longtime friend: Jimmy Dean Locklear, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
