With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Gideon Junior Locklear, a devoted father, cherished grandfather, and beloved member of our family, who left this world on November 22, 2025 at the age of 51.
Born on March 9, 1974, Gideon lived a life grounded in kindness, humility, and unwavering love for his family. As a father, he was a steady source of strength and guidance—patient, encouraging, and endlessly supportive. His children were his pride, and he dedicated himself to giving them a life filled with warmth, security, and laughter.
One of his greatest joys came later in life when he became a grandfather to his precious twin grandchildren. He adored them deeply, delighting in every smile, every milestone, and every moment spent in their life. To them, he was not only a grandfather but a gentle protector, storyteller, and quiet hero.
Known for his generosity, humor, wisdom, and gentle spirit, Gideon touched the lives of many. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a heartfelt conversation, or simply being present, he made those around him feel valued and loved.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being a grandfather, and he approached life with gratitude and a calm, steady heart. His presence brought comfort; his love brought light.
He is preceded in death by his father, the late Gideon Cummings, his sister, Cora Ann Locklear, half Brothers and sisters, Jerry Ray Cummings, Marie Cummings Hunt, Herman Cummings, Waymon Cummings, Glenn Cummings, Susie Jane Cummings, and Louise Cummings Ransom.
He is survived by wife, Denise Locklear and children Jordan Lowery, Bethany Locklear, and Samuel Locklear grandchildren—Brayston Strong and Brayleigh Strong , Mom Cora Lee Locklear, brothers: Tracy Locklear and Chancy Locklear, sister, Lucille Cummings Jacobs, nephews: Donovan Locklear, Warren Locklear and Austin Locklear, who will forever carry his love and lessons within them. Though he is no longer physically by our side, his spirit lives on in the stories we share, the values he taught, and the love he gave so freely. His love was a gift, and his legacy will forever guide us.
