Gerald James Smith

Gerald James Smith of Raeford, NC went to be with our Lord on December 20th, 2025 at 64 years of age. Beloved husband of Diane Smith. Brother of Katherine Ruffolo, Steven Smith, and the late Adam Smith. Loving father of the late James (Elizabeth) and survived by his three remaining children Felicia Barber (Chaz), Angelica Alford (Brent), and Robert Smith (Samantha). Also loved by his grandchildren Kayla (Damian), Kayden, Nolan, Evelyn, Everett, Eleanor and his great grandchildren. Also survived and loved by many other family members and friends, as well. He was a great guy!

The Eulogy 

We are gathered here today to honor the life of Gerald James Smith… Jerry known to most of us. He was extremely talented as a contractor and salesman and his approach to life was through humor. He had a deep devotion to family and loved them all deeply.

Jerry was not just a husband, but Diane’s best friend, confidant, and partner in every sense of the word. His spirit and unwavering love were the foundation of their life together, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.

Jerry taught the value of hard work, the importance of integrity, and the power of unconditional love to his family. He led by example. In his life he had 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is survived by a sister and brother as well as many other family members and friends.
