Edward (Pete) Lowery, age 80 of St. Paul's, North Carolina was born on October 28, 1942, to Raeford Lowery, Sr., and Levonia Carter Lowery in Robeson County, North Carolina. He departed this life into his heavenly home on Friday, October 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raeford and Levonia “Bill” Lowery, first daughter, Angie Lowery, five brothers, Spencer “Dobb” Lowery, Tommy “Fatty” Lowery, Calvin “Hump” Lowery, Thomas Earl “Pumpkin” Lowery, and Raeford “Nukie” Lowery, Jr., grandsons, Fred O'Renzo Lowery and Quinton O’Neal Lowery, granddaughter, Amaya Hunt, great-grandson, James Terrance Harris-Ivey and a host of other relatives and close friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 61 years, Lois Lowery, of the home; two sons, Edward Jr. Lowery and Ruth of Parkton, North Carolina; Fred Lowery and Sherry Lynn, of St. Pauls, North Carolina; one daughter, Jackie Ivey and James, of St. Pauls, North Carolina; one brother, Raymond Lowery, of St. Pauls, North Carolina; two sisters, Nancy Knight, of St. Pauls, North Carolina; and Linda Lowery and Frankie, of Red Springs, North Carolina; grandchildren Haley Johnson, Justin (Larissa) Deese, Danielle Emanuel, Shonda (David) Scott, Edward (Brittany) Lowery III, Sierra O’Stella Lowery, James Jamie Chavis, Mikaila Chavis, O’Dine Locklear, Megan Brittany Locklear, James Kenda Lowery Ivey, James Matthew Lowery Ivey, Brandon Lowery and Alexis Hall. Extended grandchildren Brayden and Kinsley Lowery; great-grandchildren Shiann (Jacob), Sakoia, Haley, Jalissa, Anasia, Alaya, Alliyah, Lahiya, Justin Anias, Silas (Man), Lucas, Machi (Cameron), Chriselle, Zendaya, Brock, Brandon, Vanessa, DaShawn, Damien, Anileigh, Arayleigh, Avayleigh, Shylon, Kendrick, Na’Riyah, Dream, Montreal, Montana, Mahogany, Zenobia, Messiah, Ellonia, Aiyonna, Tristan, Zane, Alaina, James Kyrie, James Craven, Kimberly Raven and Za’Hona; great-great grandchildren Waylon, Titus, Dylan, Gus and Everly, a special cousin, Shirley Davis, of Hendersonville, North Carolina and a special person, Robert Henderson, and other family and friends.
He was a Devoted Christian and loved his family and friends thru his life-time. He loved to gather with family and friends to sing and worship. Even in his elder years the community respected and showed him love even until the end.
