Dorothy M Sanderson

Mrs. Dorothy M. Sanderson, age 87 of Crawley West Virginia, the daughter of the late Mr. John D. and Sarah Sanderson was born on September 6, 1935, in Wakulla, North Carolina, She started her heavenly journey and gained her wings on November 16, 2022, after a long illness. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Bennie Royal, and Ellis Lambert, son, Ronnie D. Royal, sister, Gerlden Sanderson, and brothers, Winford Sanderson, John A. Sanderson.

Mrs. Dorothy was a former resident of Charleston, South Carolina. She owned and managed homes in South Carolina and North Carolina. She was a custodian manager for twenty-one years and enjoyed working. She was a homemaker, avid seamstress, creating quilts and bonnets entering them into the South Carolina Fair Competitions winning many first and second place awards. She learned hard work at an early age on the family farm in the tobacco and cotton fields. Mrs. Dorothy carried that work ethic for the rest of her life. Those work ethics gave her the strength to accomplish success in all her endeavors throughout her life. She loved the Lord, attending church services throughout her life. When she was no longer able to attend church, she was faithful to watching online services with her daughter Geraldine until the Lord called her home. She will sorely be missed by family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Sanderson Goddard (Jim) of Crawley West Virginia, three sons, Alan D. Royal of Lake Lure, North Carolina, Richard D. Royal (Lisa) of Summerville, South Carolina; and Michael D. Royal (Lolita) of Titusville, Florida. sister, Sarah D. Lowery, of Cocoa Florida, ten grandchildren, Joshua Royal (Liz), Riley Royal, Renner Royal, Felicia A. Maxwell (Michael), Tabitha L. Betz (Daniel), Joshua Goddard (Christina), Jordan Royal, Ciara Royal, Lacey Royal, and Ashley Royal, thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
