Diara Vilette Love, lovingly known as “Dee,” was born on August 30, 2001. Diara departed this life into eternity Monday, April 27, 2026. She was the cherished daughter of Darrick Love and Ashley Love, and a loving mother to her son, Takashton Locklear.
Diara was our sunshine bringing warmth, light, and love into the lives of everyone who knew her. She was deeply loved and truly cherished by her family and friends.
She leaves to treasure her memory with her siblings, Ashleigh Love of Red Springs and Darrick Love II, affectionately known as “Little D.” She was also dearly loved by her grandparents, Ken Tickle and Wanda Love-Tickle, and Jimmy and Donna Jacobs.
Diara attended Red Springs High School, where she was known as an intelligent, creative, and kind young woman. She had a passion for capturing life’s special moments through photography, especially when it came to her baby boy. Her love for Takashton was endless. Everything she did was centered around giving her son the best life possible.
Diara found joy in both the beauty of God’s creation and in serving others. She loved the outdoors, the beach, butterflies, ladybugs, and animals especially cats, dogs, and chickens. She also found great happiness in her time working at Helping the Orphans Thrift Store in Red Springs, where she looked forward to every shift with excitement, always arriving with a warm smile and a willing heart.
She was taught about Jesus, and that foundation of faith shined through in the love, and kindness she showed to others each day.
Above all, Diara was selfless. She gave of herself freely, always putting others before her own needs, and loving deeply and wholeheartedly. She was truly a gift to us all and though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she left us her greatest gift, her beloved son, Takashton.
Though her time here was far too short, Diara’s love, light, and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
