Miss Delthia Patterson, age 62 the daughter of of the late Mr. Willie Martin Patterson Sr., and the late Mrs. Delthia Lee McNeill was born on February 16, 1957 in Robeson County. She entered into eternity on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Woodland Nursing Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Barbara Jenkins and Linda Daniels.
Delthia was baptized as a child at Jones Chapel Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of Sunday school, Youth Choir and Youth Usher. She was a 1974 graduate of Red Springs High School, 1978 graduate of Elizabeth State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education. All Conference in Basketball, Softball, and Track Field at Red Springs High and Elizabeth State University. She was a children's tutor, breakfast chef, and a cat lover. She enjoyed endless phone conversations, shopping, writing, music, and collecting stuff. Delthia was a gallant fighter and fought a long battle with mental illness and throat cancer. She was a friend and unselfish giver to all.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters, Frances Patterson and Eva Patterson Heath (Tim) both of Red Springs, North Carolina; four brothers, James David Manning (Elizabeth) of Atlah, New York, Willie Martin Patterson Jr of Red Springs, North Carolina, James Willie Patterson of Red Springs, North Carolina, and Charlie Patterson of Raleigh, North Carolina. Aunt Nancy (David) Jordan of Wallace, North Carolina; Great-Aunt, Augusta Goodyear of Red Springs, North Carolina; beloved nieces, nephews, and a multitude of cousins. A host of other family and friends.
