Deborah Lynn McRae Obituary

Deborah Lynn McRae age 59, of Red Springs, North Carolina was born on December 1, 1964 to the late Mrs. Mary Lee Allen McRae and Mr. Leroy McRae in Robeson County, North Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at UNC Health Southeastern, Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with her mother she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gibson Hocker, Sr., and Christopher McRae, grandmother, Mary Jane Parker, sister, Patricia Hocker, two nephews, Ajerris and Jason McRae, and a grandson, Jeremiah McRae.

Deborah was a faithful member of Rhyne Memorial United Methodist Church where she served until God called her home. Deborah attended Job Corps where she received her GED. Deborah was very passionate about spreading love to the community, and she celebrated life. Not only did she cook and feed anyone that was hungry, but she would also have events for the area children. She was a fifteen-year Cancer Survivor and held cancer survivor drive events every year during cancer awareness month.

Deborah leaves to cherish her memories one daughter: Charlene McRae of Lumberton, North Carolina, one son: Braderick McRae (Rosalyn) of Raeford, North Carolina, four sisters: Karen Allen of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Yolanda McLaurin (Jerry) of Red Springs, North Carolina, Angela Smith (Ronnie) of Raeford, North Carolina, Veleria Haywood (James) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, five brothers: Gary McMillan (Doreen) of Raeford, North Carolina, Roy McRae of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Archie McRae (Felicia) of Lumberton, North Carolina, Samuel Cobb of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Gerald Cobb (Angela) of Red Springs, North Carolina, three grandchildren: Ariauna, Yasheerah, Ta'Sean, one great grandson, Jahair Morrison, one sister-in-law, Betty Hocker, of Red Springs, North Carolina, two special friends: Shirley Watson and Laura Thompson, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
