Chief Leon Locklear, age 84 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on  March 1, 1935  to the late Mr. Dock Locklear and the late Mrs. Mattie Bell Bullard Locklear in Robeson County, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life to eternal rest on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Locklear, one grandson, Victor Chad Locklear, eleven siblings, John Locklear, Grady Locklear, Teresa Locklear, James Locklear, Arnold Locklear, Purnell Locklear, Jerry Locklear, Lois Locklear Hunt, Dock Locklear Jr., Lucious Locklear, and Harold Locklear.

Chief Leon leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Mark Locklear and wife Susan, Victor Kluwig and wife Katrin, Mitchell Locklear and wife Debbie and Bennie Thunder Eagle Emanuel all of Maxton, North Carolina, three daughters, Connie Locklear Jacobs and Lisa Locklear both of Maxton, North Carolina, and Nicole McLaurin and husband, Rory of Laurinburg, North Carolina, six sisters, Mary Rose Sanderson, Girlie M. Biller, Savannah Clark,  Vera Webber, Betsy Locklear  and Peggy Locklear, three brothers, Kermit Locklear, Ronald Locklear and Winford Locklear, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren,  11 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
