Mr. Charles Richard Locklear, aka "Charlie" of Maxton, North Carolina was born on May 17, 1961, to the late James Earl Hunt and the late Lucrate Locklear Hunt in Robeson County, North Carolina. He departed this life on July 20, 2024. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Murle Locklear, Jimmy Dean Locklear and one sister, Dinkey Locklear Jacobs.
Charlie was larger than life. He was a man of great physical stature. But even bigger than that was his heart, He captivated every place he entered with his wit, charisma, and loving nature.
Charlie loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a country boy at heart and an avid outdoor enthusiast.
He worked at Tommy Wright Building Supply in Raeford, North Carolina, for many years. Charlie loved his job and the individuals he met throughout his many years at Wright Building Supply. He formed friendships with many of his customers over the years.
Mr. Charles leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 42 years: Connie Locklear of the home, two sons: Charles Richard Locklear Jr. of Maxton, North Carolina, Michael Register of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, one daughter: Brittney Oxendine (Joseph) of Rowland, North Carolina, one brother: Jimmy Dallas Locklear, eleven grandchildren: Shantell, Ashley, Cassidy, Mykael, Shawn, Damien, Jacob, Joriley, Joseph, JoJo, Jayonna, two great grandchildren, sisters-in-laws: Sandra Loyal (Russell), Judy Sitzler (Jake), Carol Locklear (Rob), Sheila Boone (Glenn), one brother in law Ronnie Butler (Sue), father in law, Carl Butler along with a host of other relatives and friends.
