Mrs. Betty Ruth Oxendine, 77 of 216 Spruce Lane, Shannon, NC was born to the late Reedy and Rebecca Locklear of Shannon, North Carolina. Mrs. Betty was born into eternity on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infants, one brother, Jerry Locklear and one sister, Novella Worriax. She was a home maker and a great wife to her husband and a great mother to her children. Betty was famous for making flour bread. She loved singing at church as much as possible; that always brought her great joy singing to the Lord. Her favorite song was Amazing Grace which she led often at church.
Mrs. Betty leaves to cherish her memories to her husband of 54 years, Mr. Henry Oxendine of the home. In addition, two sons, Tony Locklear of the home and Roger Oxendine of Lumberton, NC; one daughter, Sara Lois Oxendine of Pembroke, NC; two sisters, Lady Ellen Cummings and Wanda Smith both of Shannon, NC; two brothers, Felton Locklear and Billy Locklear of Shannon, NC as well; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren along with a host of relatives and friends.
