Benford Porter age 78 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on September 1, 1945, to the late Buck Porter and the late Esabell Bryant in Scotland County, North Carolina. He departed this life on December 12, 2023, at Morrison Manor, Laurinburg, North Carolina. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters Kimberly Porter and Linda Faye Emanuel, a brother Timmy Spaulding, a niece Wanda Bryant.

Benford leaves to cherish his memories two sons: Ben Porter (Savannah) of Lumberton, North Carolina, Benford Porter Jr. of Maxton, North Carolina, two daughters: Payton Porter and Betty Jo Barton both of Maxton, North Carolina, his companion: Vonda Deese, one brother: Jerry Porter of Maxton, North Carolina, one sister: Gladys Bryant (Jacob) of Maxton, North Carolina, several grandchildren, a special niece: Glenda Carter of Maxton, North Carolina, sister-in-law: Sharlene Spaulding of Maxton, North Carolina, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
