Baby Kai Bryson McLean

Baby Kai Bryson McLean arrived on Wednesday, the 23rd of October 2024, at 3:57p.m. at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, North Carolina. God blessed our loving family with an adorable brown-eyed baby boy. Kai's parents, Kameron McLean and Kenda Hunt, together with their extended families, celebrated his birth.

Jesus loves the little children, all the little children of the world. Because we know this is true, we recognize that He only takes the best. Our Heavenly Father did exactly that on Friday, December 20, 2024, when He went to UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, North Carolina, and brought Baby Kai Bryson McLean to play and enjoy a wonderful life in Heaven. Kai was welcomed into Heaven by his great grandparents, Mrs. Lucille Rushing, Mr. Hardin Brown Sr., Mrs. Annie Pearl Ross Brown, and Mr. Gurney Hunt and his cousin, Khristian Camikal McLean.  

Although Kai graced us shortly with his presence, he was immensely loved and brought immeasurable, joy and laughter to those around him. Kai enjoyed the embracing, loving arms of his parents and grandparents that never laid him down. Kai would knot up his eyebrows and make a whimper, if he felt the movement of separation from our arms. He was so little, but already had the personality of his daddy and the warmness of his mother‘s heart. Kai “Little Buddy boy, and “KK’s Baby) loved to hear the grace and elegance of his mother‘s voice singing lullabies and playtime with his father and walks around the house, papa Ken making racing car sounds, watching Kaden dancing and facetiming with Nana every night since he was born.

Kai was an “All American Baby.” Our family is forever changed and forever grateful to have spent this brief, but incredibly meaningful, time with  Kai.

Kai’s presence will be missed by his parents, Kameron McLean and Kenda Brooke Hunt, his grandparents, Ken and Kelli McLean, of Lumberton, NC and  Kent and Nahir Hunt, of Maxton, North Carolina; great grandparents, Patricia Henson (Bob), of Florence, South Carolina; Steve Rushing, of Florence, South Carolina; Virgil and Bert Hutchinson, of Maxton, North Carolina; Denzel & Joan Carol Locklear, of Pembroke, North Carolina; Bessie Hunt, of Pembroke, North Carolina, great great grandmother, Vivian Locklear of Pembroke, North Carolina; and Jimmy Johnson (Patricia), of Hallsboro, North Carolina; his uncles,  Kaden McLean, of Lumberton, North Carolina, Kajun Hunt, of Maxton, North Carolina; Jantzen McLean, of Maxton, North Carolina, Rashaad McLean (Brandi), of Red Springs, North Carolina; Sandy Rushing (Aileen), of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Rodney Owens (Fredricka), of Dillon, South Carolina,  Michael Ruffin (Vanessa), of Bladenboro, North Carolina and Jarek Johnson (Karen), of Hallsboro, North Carolina;  two aunts, Angelica Hutchinson, of Maxton, North Carolina and Ashley J. Washington (Jamie), Parkton, North Carolina.  Special family and friends, Seth Chavis, Kinston McLean, Annie (Ease),  JT and McKenzie Brown, Kaydantz McLean, Mahlea C. Locklear(Dakota), Mariah Scott (Don), Patricia Hardin (Adam), Robyn Ramsay, The Hunt Family, The Locklear Family, uncle Brent Hunt (Celeste), uncle Grady Hunt (Karon), Uncle Randy Hunt (Teresa), Kaydence Hunt, Aunt Deidra Grantham (Travis) and Aunt Torrey Locklear (Davance), Uncle Darren Locklear, Uncle Virgil Hutchinson, Jr., (Dee), of Huntsville, Alabama; and Aunt Alicia Hutchinson Smith (Mike), of Acworth, Georgia;  and a host of other loving family members. 

We take great comfort in knowing that Kai is with Jesus in Heaven and we will be with him one day. Our Baby Kai was a gift from God that we will always cherish.
