Mr. Stedford "Candyman" Chavis, Jr., age 75 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on May 7, 1950, to Stedford Chavis and Rosie Mae Chavis in Robeson County, North Carolina. He departed this life to eternity on May 3, 2026, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Brandy Michelle Faircloth.

Mr. Stedford was an active member of Community Holiness Church, Shannon, North Carolina.

Mr. Stedford leaves to cherish his memories; his wife of 57 years: Christine Chavis of the home, two sons: Christopher Chavis (Naza) of Greenville, SC and Bruce Chavis (Victoria) of Maxton, NC, three daughters: Stephanie Bullard (Duwayne), Camilla Chavis, and Faith Lowery (Vincent) all of Maxton, NC, two brothers: Nathaniel Chavis (Sandra) and Daniel Chavis (Sonya) both of Maxton, NC, thirteen grandchildren: Michael, Christina, Kinston, Kevin, Emily, Gentry, Brice, Valerie, Vivian, Cody, Tia, Brandice, and Chloe, thirteen special great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
