Evans age 42 of Fayetteville, North Carolina was born on July 17, 1980, to Mr. Donnell Evans and the late Mrs. Vernette Lambert Ivey in Cumberland County, North Carolina. He departed this life on October 10, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina. Along with his mother he was preceded in death by his brother Donnell Evans Jr., stepfather Nelson Cummings, paternal grandmother Louise Scott, and maternal grandparents Evens and Dessie Lambert.

Shawn leaves to cherish his memories one son: Shawn Matthew Evans Jr. of the home, two daughters: Chelsea Thompkins of Hope Mills, North Carolina; Chloe Noel Evans of the home, his father: Donnell Evans of Autryville, North Carolina; his companion, Jenna Messerole of the home, one brother: Michael Ezzell of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three sisters: Nancy Lupo (Keenan), Connie Evans (Nick) both of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Katelyn Fowler of Raeford, North Carolina; grandchildren: Izaiah Tucker, Graeson Tucker, Alivia Speed, Kaylani Speed, nieces, and nephews: Brittany Locklear, Austin Capps, Serena Capps, Landon Diaz, Alexander Dixon, Gracie Esparaza, Aubrey Thackeray, Riley Carnahan, Austin Thackeray, Allyson Thackeray, Kylie Carnahan, his best friend: Mary Chavis along with a host of other relatives and friends.
