Mrs. Serena Mae Seals, age 81 of Maxton, North Carolina went home to see her Jesus on Friday, August 20, 2021, after fighting her battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on October 28, 1939.

Serena was preceded in death by her parents, the late Arthur and Lealer Locklear, her husband of 57 years Murphy Hubert Seals, a  son, Keith Lamont Seals, a set of twins, 3 siblings: Buddy, Annie Lois, and Katie Lee, 1 great-grandchild and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Serena is survived by 3 daughters: Brenda (Donald) Locklear of Laurinburg, NC, Linda (Phillip) Hunt of Lumberton, NC, Marilyn (Jackie) Allen of Maxton, NC. Serena is also survived by 6 sons: Freddie (Annie Sue) Locklear of Maxton, NC, Glenn (Connie) Hammons of Pembroke, NC, Timmie (Marie) Seals of Dillion, SC, Murphy (Monica) Seals of Indian Trail, NC, Robert Seals of Maxton, NC, Kelvin Seals of the home.

Serena is also survived by 26 grandchildren. They are as follows: Lisa (Bryan) Hammonds of Baltimore, MD, Albert (Crystal) Connor of Laurinburg, NC, Whitney (Brandon) Powers of Pembroke, NC, Hannah Locklear of Laurinburg, NC, LaTonya Locklear of Holly Springs, NC, Phillip Hunt Jr of Lumberton, NC, Bryan Hunt of Lumberton, NC, Sunshine Hunt of Lumberton, NC, Sabrina (Wayne) Hammonds of Red Springs, NC, Jackie (Dawn) Allen Jr of Florence, SC, Josh Locklear of Maxton, NC, Kim Oxendine of Maxton, NC, Crystal Locklear, of Maxton, NC, Serena Locklear of Maxton, NC, Glenda Faye Scott of Maxton, NC, Alicia Seals of Rowland, NC, Brittany Hammonds of Charlotte, NC, Leslie McPherson of Pembroke, NC, Kala (Joey) Seals of Aberdeen, NC, Elijah Seals of Indian Trail, NC, Mikah Seals of Laurinburg, NC, Nathan Stevens of Maxton, NC, Kisten McPherson of Maxton NC, Zane Seals of the home, Shone Allen of Greenville, North Carolina, Jeremy Hammonds Allen of Prospect, North Carolina.

Serena is survived by 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Serena loved to love and hug on people and feed them their special dish. For 31 years Serena worked at JP Stevens where she is remembered for bringing her sacks of goodies. Her grandchildren and any kids that visited remember the candy and bubblegum that she gave. Serena loved her Jesus and her favorite scripture was The Lord's Prayer: A special thanks to Community Hospice for their service with our mom.
