Mrs. Nevia Jones age 81 of Lumberton, North Carolina was born on May 05, 1941, to the late Mr. Luther Lowery and the late Mrs. Ila Mae Jacobs Lowery in Robeson County, North Carolina. She departed this life on December 17, 2022, at Harbor View Nursing Home, Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marlin Jones, one brother Calvin Lowery, three sisters Annie Ruth Nelson, Diane Zayas, Ruthie McPherson, one daughter Hazel Jones, two grandchildren David Lee Jones and Tyanna McGirt.

Mrs. Jones leaves to cherish her memories two sons and four daughters: Merrill Jones and wife Nickki of Maxton, North Carolina, Earl Jones of Shannon, North Carolina. Regina Jones and husband Jason of Raeford. Patsy Jones, Rosa McGirt and husband Graylen all of Lumberton, North Carolina, Patricia Hammonds and husband Frankie of St. Pauls, North Carolina, fifteen grandchildren Melissa Jones, Christine Strickland, Wallie Jones Jr., Lee Tom Jones, Stephanie McGirt, Candy Moser, Maurice Locklear, Shawn Jones, Leanne Hammonds, Cheyenne Hammonds, Michael Jones, Gracie Jones, Kimberly Jones, Grayson Jones, Noah Jones, five sisters: Marlene Watson, Mildred Nelson, Melba Lunsford, Dorethia Burdett, Elizabeth "Liz" Lowery, twenty-six great grandchildren, along with a host  of other relatives and friends.
