Mr. Nelson Locklear, age 71 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on April 30, 1951 to the late Winslow Locklear and the late Katherine Locklear in Robeson County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Friday, February 24, 2023 at UNC Health Southeastern, Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Locklear, brother, Thermand Lee Locklear, and Ricky Locklear.

Mr. Nelson leaves to cherish his memories, three sons: Nelson Locklear Jr. (Fedria), Gary Dewayne Locklear,  and Dewayne Nelson Locklear, four daughters: Juanita Rogers (Chris), Laronda Michelle Warriax, Danielle Locklear, and Sabrina Clark (Brantley), five brothers: Harrison Locklear, Orson Locklear, Gregory Locklear, Milton Locklear, and Melton Locklear, nine sisters: Phyllis Revels, Cassandra Locklear, Jamie Joan Locklear, Donetta Locklear, Vanessa Locklear, Gladys Locklear, Mattie Bell Locklear, Cathy Locklear Jones, and Karen Watson, thirteen grandchildren: Sequoya, Damien, Raymanda, Triston, Hampton, Felicia, Santanna, Gabriel, Trisa, Heaven, Haven, Kayla, and  Blake,  four great grandchildren, and a special niece: Lakisha Locklear, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
