Mr. Merlin (Blossom) Chavis age 70 of Raeford, North Carolina was born on July 10, 1952, to the late Henry Hartford Locklear and the late Verdora Chavis in Scotland County, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life to eternal life on September 21, 2022, at Firsthealth Hospice House in Moore County, North Carolina.

Mr. Merlin leaves to cherish his memories one son: Merlin Ray Chavis of Shannon, North Carolina, one daughter: Chree Perry of Baltimore, Maryland, four sisters: Janice Smith, Sally Jo Jacobs both of Red Springs, North Carolina, Stella Johnson of Shannon, North Carolina, Vicki Lloyd of Baltimore, Maryland, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
