Mrs. Lucille Strickland age 79 of Maxton, North Carolina was born on March 20, 1942, to the late Council "Boss Man" Locklear and the late Reather Clark. She departed this life on February 2, 2022, at Woodhaven Nursing Facility, Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Strickland, brother Garniville Clark, one granddaughter Brandi Strickland, two grandsons, Justin Strickland, and Todd Strickland.

Mrs. Lucille leaves to cherish her memories two sons: Jack Jr. Strickland of Rowland, North Carolina, Shelton Strickland and wife Annie Ruth of Laurinburg, North Carolina, three daughters: Jan Oxendine of Roxboro, North Carolina, Margie Locklear and husband Fred of Rowland, North Carolina, Sarah Sweat of Maxton, North Carolina, four brothers: Arnold Oxendine Jr., Herman Oxendine, Glen Oxendine, and wife Linda, Vernon Dean Locklear and wife Belinda all of Rowland, North Carolina, five sisters: Judy Hatcher, Betty Jo Oxendine, Rose Marie Goins and husband Kent, Marlene Strong and Gloria Jean Locklear all of Rowland, North Carolina, eleven grandchildren: Nicholas Strickland, Heather Strickland, Quentin Sweat, Travis Sweat, Tasha Strickland, Brandon Strickland, Timothy Locklear, Josh Locklear, Monica Hunt, Steven Hunt, Eric Hunt, twenty-six great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
