Mrs. Jennifer L. Barton age 68 of St. Pauls, North Carolina was born on February 19, 1953, to the late Belton "Buddy" Locklear and the late Dovie Hunt in Robeson County, North Carolina. She departed this life on February 8, 2022, at Southeastern Hospice House, Lumberton, North Carolina. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Harker R. Barton, her biological father and mother Welsey Strickland and Meba Williams, brothers Bobby Locklear, Jimmy Hunt, James Edward "Bobo" Strickland, James Welsey "Bibo" Strickland, sister Betty Jane Strickland.

Mrs. Jennifer will always be remembered as a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother.

Jennifer is survived by her loving children: Shawna Barton of the home, Ronald Barton of Shannon, North Carolina, and Harker "Paul" Barton, Jr., of Fairmont, North Carolina, two grandchildren: Randy Lee Hammonds, Jr., and Jeremy Lynn Hammonds, four great-grandchildren: Raylan Dean Chavis, Kash Liam Hammonds, Rayleigh Skye Hammonds and  Swaizy Nova Hammonds, one brother: Jimmy Locklear and wife Judy of Lumberton, North Carolina, four sisters: Patricia Morgan, Nicia Strickland, Jean Williams and  Betty Jane Strickland, a very special cousin, Gail Brewington along with a host of many other relatives and friends.
