Mrs. Jeanette B. Locklear, of 33 Ray's Road, Shannon, North Carolina, was born on August 14, 1957, in Scotland County to the late Early R. Brooks and Annie L. Lewis. A faithful and devoted servant of the Lord, Mrs. Locklear, peacefully entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the age of 68.

Mrs. Locklear was a retired teacher and librarian with the Public Schools of Robeson County. She earned her degrees from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and North Carolina Central University and dedicated her professional career to educating and uplifting the youth of Robeson County. Known for her patience, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence, she positively impacted countless students and inspired generations of learners.

In addition to her professional career, Mrs. Locklear answered the divine call to ministry and faithfully served for more than 40 years as a Minister, Pastor, Missionary, and Evangelist. Throughout her ministry, she served in numerous capacities, including as clergy with UNC Health Southeastern. Through preaching, teaching, and spiritual leadership, she led many to Christ and exemplified a life devoted to faith, service, and obedience to God's calling. Her legacy is one of steadfast devotion to God, love for family, and service to others.

Mrs. Locklear was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Locklear Jr.; her father, Early R. Brooks; her stepfather, W. G. Lewis; her brother, Ronald Brooks; and her sisters, Shirley Dial and Connie Hill.

She leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, Gary Brooks (Loretta) and Tony Lewis; one sister, Sally Ann Brooks; two special daughters, Emy Moscoso and Tiffany Brooks; and three special grandchildren, Marcos, Anila, and Axton. She also leaves a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
